Local artist, Wayne M Haglund, brings coal mining history and the Drumheller Valley to life in these limited-edition prints.
Artist statement: “My prints represent what I see as events in my personal and professional life, and perhaps yours. I see these events as fun, entertaining and colourful, often filled with energy and excitement. I apply watercolor paint to the initial print to enhance and brighten those events. Most of the images are simple in form and composition with a basic theme; and usually have a small distraction in a corner. Other prints are more formal, complex and represent places I’ve been to or places I’d like to be. I engage in serigraph, relied and etching printmaking. I enjoy the creative, organizational and mechanical processes that go into printmaking and I hope that is reflected in the prints I create. Enjoy!”
